Our History…

Neal George founded George Aviation with his wife Allison and is based 18FD, Sky Ranch airpark in Baker, Florida. Officially open for business in early 2005, Neal and Allison George have been involved in general aviation and aircraft maintenance for nearly 25 years.

Neal started building and flying radio-controlled aircraft in the 1980s and took his first flight in a GA aircraft in 1988.  He began training for his Private Pilot’s license in 1993, earning a Private Pilot certificate and an Instrument Rating.
While still on active duty in the Air Force, Neal apprenticed under Gene McNeely, earning Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic (A&P) in 2005 and Inspection Authorization (A&P/IA) in 2008.  Neal retired from the US Air Force in 2012 and joined Continental Motors Inc. as a Product Support Engineer.

Challenges with the Continental PowerLink (™) FADEC system were already readily apparent, and the idea of the FADECtomy was born. EcoFLight.net of Switzerland provided an aircraft for the project in 2021, and the development of a Supplemental Type Certificate began in earnest.

All the research work has been completed, and flight testing is ongoing. Your Liberty XL-2 could soon benefit from a Fadectomy and be reborn.
